Brin's 3rd Grade Gooseberry Campout
Brin got to on the annual 3rd Grade Gooseberry Campout this past week, and because she is a girl, Julie got to go also. As always, the weather was cold, wet, haily, and cold(did I already say that). They both survived, although Annie Bangs came at night and grabbed Brin.
Hey, it is Smokey the Bear and his handy helper Charcoal the Elephant(????) Not quite sure what is up with an elephant in a Utah National Forest. I guess she has the trunk to put out wildfires. This is Brin's group up at the camp. They went to various classes and demonstrations during the two days.
Brin is waiting for Annie Bangs to arrive. As the legend states, Annie was a young infant many years ago. She lived with her family in a cabin near the Gooseberry Campground. One day, a horrible storm hit the cabin and her parents where unable to get into town for supplies. Their water was running out too. The dad decided to try to make a trip into town to get some supply. He left one morningand never came back. The mother decided to go looking for him or to find food. She wrapped the baby in a shawl and left her in a cradle. The mother never came back either. The cries of the baby brought wolves to the cabin where they were able to get in. They didn't kill her but took her with them and raised her as a wolf pup. She haunts the Gooseberry area ever since.

Only Cannon!
The other night Cannon was blessing the food. He started good; he thanked Heavenly Father for the food and the day he had. Then he asked Him to bless the food. Then he paused. I then heard him whisper, "Dad." I slowly opened one eye, and he quietly asked, "What is the name of that guy again?" I did everything I could to not start laughing, I calmly whispered it to him that the guy was Jesus Christ, and he finished the prayer.
The above picture was taken Cannon's first day of pre-school this year. He was so excited to see his big yellow school bus coming down the street.
I think it is time to start blogging again.
I feel the urge to blog again. Julie is busy doing facebook stuff and I really don't want a facebook account, so I think I do the blogging thing. I haven't blogged in more than six months, so a lot has happened. I will give a recap of the summer, probably.

Meet the newest member of the Thornock household
Meet Macey May. She is our newest member. She is a maltese. She is 2 years old and only weighs 4 lbs. She is a tiny little thing. She has been a great dog. She hardly ever barks. She is really good with the kids.
Brin is seen below taking the dog to show-and-tell at her school. And as you can tell she is totally a girly dog.

NASCAR Weekend in Las Vegas
Carson and I attended NASCAR Weekend in Las Vegas at the end of February. We absolutely had a blast. Somebody at work said that NASCAR was an acronym for Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks. It is something I ever thought that I would attend, but it is something awesome to see in person. It is a pretty amazing spectacle. This year we were able to attend the whole weekend of events and races.
Carson was really excited to back at track on the qualifying day.
Happy 6th Birthday Carson!
Carson celebrated his sixth birthday on February 24th. He had been asking for a skateboard for his B-day, so Julie decided to make him a skateboard cake.
One of his gifts might just become an annual tradition of ours. Carson received NASCAR tickets this year again. We had such a great time last year, so we decided on a return trip.
Cannon Turns 4!
On February 18th, Cannon celebrated his fourth birthday. Julie always makes the cutest cakes for the kids. Cannon really wanted a dragon cake, so Julie came up with this masterpiece.
Where to begin again?
It has been so long that I don't even know where to start. I might just give a brief recap of the past 2 1/2 months.
