Weekly Update

It wasn't too exciting of a week. T'was just normal. We did get to see Jeff and Jenna this weekend as they came to Monroe to pickup their car. Jeff and I shoot some hoop, mainly we dunked on a 9' rim. Jeff and Jenna brought our kids an early Halloween treat box. Yes, a freakin box. It had a ton of candy in it. Jeff wants my kids to have teeth like his. It was awesome of them. Brooke and Brin went over to Jenna's house and helped bottle peaches. They had a ball.

Our addition is coming nicely. I didn't take a pic this week. This week our trusses were installed and the addition has a roof and is shingled. I believe this week, they will be stating our electrical, heating, and plumbing.

We are excited that Albert and Alisha are coming this weekend. Julie's parents (with Jayson and Jen, I think) are also coming for conference weekend too.

Game On!

While Julie was away at the Scrapbook Expo, I finished building up my birthday present. My kids and I are way excited to finally have a hoop. Below, Brooke and Brin show off their game.

Scrapbook USA Expo Fall 2008

This past Friday and Saturday Julie attended the semiannual Scrapbook Expo in Sandy, Utah. I really can't give her a bad time because she insists that it is her "Moab". That is all I need to know. She has went to several in the past, but this year she actually got to stay up in Sandy and attend both days. It is amazing what one can do when your not pregnant or breast feeding. Julie left Friday morning at 7:30 with her friend Jennie Christensen. At the expo she met her sis-in-law Alisha Foster and her mom Gayle. Julie had a great time, and by the looks at our checking account, she really had a good time.

Jennie and Julie posing for a photo during one of their brief breaks from spending money. Once again they pretend to work. Why I am so sure? I haven't seen any pages they have so called created.
Alisha shows off her stickers she found when she dropped her dill pickle under someone elses work station and hit the jackpot with this find. She will probably have another story, but it is just a cover up. Besides, it is rumored that she even ate the pickle after the 10 sec rule had expired.
I really didn't know that the scrapbook expo specializes in Christmas trees. Well Julie bought one this weekend and here Alisha and the Christmas tree pose in the back seat of my little Corolla. I am sure this was very safe traveling around the Wasatch Front.
And finally, after two days of scrapbooking Julie's face became distorted and actually stuck like this. I here that the only way to cure this is to make sure her husband watches plenty of BYU football.

One Week Later

Our foundation for our addition transformed into a stage for dancing for a couple of days. The kids had fun struting their stuff. Cannon was even practicing is Karate Kid Swan Kick!

And by Friday we had particle board on the walls and our deck substructure all framed.

Brooke's Gooseberry Trip

One of the Sevier County School District's traditions is that it sends all of its 3rd Graders up to Gooseberry (pronounced Goozeberry, idk why?) Campground for an overnight trip that includes classes, singing and story telling. Julie got to go up with Brooke and spend this time in the great outdoors. She would have been totally fine with this except she was really, really sick and the weather was totally miserable. It was pouring rain the whole time. I don't know how she made it.

Weekly Addition Update

Well our addition is picking up steam. I have two pics below showing our foundation walls and our sidewalk around the foundation. They already have all the floor joists on except for 4 of thems so I will take a picture and display that progress next week. I am pretty sure the kids still want us to convert this foundation into a swimming pool.

Happy Birthday to Kirk

September 5th was my birthday. I am freaking old. 35 years old. Although I didn't ask for anything for my birthday (partly because of my new mountain bike I bought this past May and I would have felt guilty) my beautiful wife decided to surprise me with a gift. I can't read my wife. She really had me thinking I was getting a Tuff Shed for my birthday. Boy I was wrong. I was really excited when my present arrived. I have wanted to get one for not only me but for my kids to play with also. It was a total surprise. Thanks babe, Love ya!

Now I just got to put it together and stand her up once I get her base ready.

First Day of School!

Another exciting year of school has started. Below is Cannon, age 3, ready for his first day of Preschool. I sure hope he doesn't beat up his teacher.

Brin, age 7, was way excited to be going into 2nd Grade.

Brooke, age 8, is now a 3rd Grader.

Carson, age 5, ready for his first day of Kindergarten. He was really, really excited to be going even though he looks scared to death.

And Chloe, age 21 Months, gets to spend the day with Mom and shop till she drops. What a cutie!

Our Addition

We have finally broken ground for our addition which will include a bigger dining room and a mud/storage room. The photo below shows that our hole has become a playground for our rugrats.

The next photo shows the start of our foundation work. You can start to see what it will look like.

Along with the addition, Julie and I have been busy trying to spiff up our yard. My brother Ken and I added curbing to the yard. Eventually, all the grass will be removed next to the fence and have plants and rocks put in its place. The following pics show what we have done. Julie has bought some cute granite benches that are really cool.

I GUESS IT IS OUR TURN

Having been inspired by Jeff, Jenna and Alisha, I decided that my family needed a blog. It is more complicated than I expected...too many decisions to make. Once I get the hang of this, my goal is to update it weekly with our families adventures in life. I hope it works out ok.
