Oh Cannon!
Today Cannon decided to put a cardboard roll on his leg and walk around like he was Captain Hook or something. The roll came from a vinyl roll and it was really thick. Well, the roll got stuck on his leg and Julie couldn't get it off by pulling it, nor could she cut it with normal scissors or rip it off.
Luckily, the stucco guys left some huge "scissors" that Julie used to cut off the thing. Chloe was getting really concerned that Cannon was gonna lose his leg.
Chloe thought mom was gonna cut off Cannon's piggies.
After 20 minutes of surgery, the cardboard cast came off.

Going to Grandpa & Grandma Thornock's House
Last Wednesday night I ventured to Ely, Nevada with Brooke, Brin, Carson and Cannon. I went home to help my dad prune his fruit trees. It seems like everytime my Dad and a ladder are involved, he gets hurt. Below is when we hit the state line. At this time everyone was zonked out except for Cannon.
I can't really tell if Cannon is really asleep or just woke up for the picture.
Here is the end result of our work. I don't have a before pic of the little fruit trees before we pruned them, but they easily were 30 feet tall. Here is my Dad after we finished the little trees.
This is my dad's apple tree. I use to play in this tree all the time as a kid. The before photo is from my phone. It was hard work. I was extremely tired when we were done. 
After pruning the trees, I took the kids to the Stepoe Park for a little run around time.

Friday morning Dad and I set out for the golf course and played 18. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. What a gorgeous mid-October day. I hadn't played a round of golf since May 2007. I actually didn't score to badly, my shots were all over the place though. Dad had an awesome back 9.
On the way home on Friday, we stopped at Lehman's Cave in the Great Basin National Park. We went on a 60 min. tour cave. However, before we went into the cave, we went on a nature hike. Below is the kids by an old log cabin.
The nature trail took us right by the orginal entrance to the cave.

One of the cave tours requires the explorers to pass through this box before caving to ensure that they don't get stuck inside the cave forever!

Long time ago, one's admission to the cave included a tour and one got to break a piece of a formation off as a souvenir. The photo below show that the cave is still living and that it is trying to heal itself. Theory is that it takes 100 years for a stalactite or stalagmite to grow an inch.

It has been awhile since I last posted some pics of our addition, so I thought I better (right Jenna?). The three pics below show our addition from the inside. The wall is torn out and it is sheet rocked and is in the middle of being mudded. The only thing we lack is our sliding patio door. It still isn't in.

First Snow
We had our first snow of the season today, October 12th. It snowed Saturday but nothing stuck. However, when we woke up this morning we had a quarter inch on the ground. Cannon saw this and asked if we could put up the Christmas tree. Sorry buddy.
General Conference Weekend
It was a rainy, rainy conference weekend. We were lucky to have the good company of Julie's Dad John here, along with Albert, Alisha, Jennifer and Jayson. Although the weather was terrible, we had a good time. Julie came up with the idea of making a Gingerbread Haunted Halloween House to keep the kids busy. It turned out awesome. Thanks to Jenna and Jeff for supplying much of the candy during their last trip to Monroe. Below is the start of the house. It definitely had humble beginnings.
It starts to take shape. Julie and Alisha were the master architects. I believe it was built "one on the house, three in the mouth" method.

Albert, Jayson and I were hoping for good weather so that we could play slam ball on my new hoop. Although it rained, we still played in between conference sessions.
Grandpa made some hobo dinners for lunch on Saturday. They were really good. In fact, I never had a hobo dinner before. Below the kids pose next to Grandpa's hobo cooker.

We celebrated Brooke's Birthday last weekend. It was General Conference weekend so we had Julie's Dad come down along with Albert, Alisha, Jen and Jayson. I believe she had a great birthday. Instead of regular cake, her Grandpa made a dutch oven peach cobler, that was sooo good. Below Brooke is blowing out her candle. 
I think Brooke had a great birthday. She received several things including money and a card from Grandpa and Grandma Thornock and money, card and a shirt from Grandpa and Grandma Foster. Albert and Alisha bought her a movie that she had been wanting and her Aunt Jen bought her a cool pink CTR ring. She also received a cool beaded watch. Julie and I surprised her with a new desk, chair and mirror for her bedroom. The funny thing about this is as she slept Saturday night Albert and I snuck in her room and put the desk in it. Well, I was thinking that she would wake up and be so excited, but that didn't happen. She woke up the next morning, rolled out of bed and came upstairs and started watching TV. I came out and she acted like nothing happened. Julie and I were totally sad, we thought she wasn't thankful. Well, she didn't even notice it! Julie went downstair with her to show her her room. Then she was excited.
